Clyde Capybara is now available!

October 14th, 2023 by Rachel

Hi everyone!

Some exciting news for you all…..Clyde Capybara is available to buy on the Jellycat website!

I wasn’t sure about him at first. I kind of liked him, then I decided I wasn’t going to buy him. Roll on 24 hours and I got a serious case of F.O.M.O. and couldn’t stand the thought of missing out on him, so I ordered him.

I’m glad I did as who could resist this chonky little guy?

Jellycat Clyde CapybaraAccording to the Jellycat website, he measures 21cm tall and 24cm long, but from others that have already received theirs, they have said he seems bigger than the official measurements.

Clyde is quite possibly my spirit animal. A little chunky and always looks like he could do with an early night.

Jellycat Clyde Capybara

Hopefully, I’ll have this little fellow in my hands next week and I will post up real life pictures of him. From images I’ve seen from other Jellycat collectors, he looks so adorable and cuddly.

I love how realistic he looks, but others have said that they aren’t so keen on this and that he doesn’t look like a Jellycat. I get where they are coming from, but I think that’s the beauty of Jellycats, that there is something to please everyone!

Clyde Capybara JellycatPlus, can we just take a moment to appreciate his chonkiness? I can’t wait until he arrives and show him to you all!!

The 2023 Halloween Jellycats are now available and they’re freakily cute!

August 7th, 2023 by Rachel

Hi everyone!

As you may have already seen, the 2023 Halloween Jellycats are now available! They have already started rolling out to the local stockists and are freakily adorable!

Below are all the 2023 Halloween Jellycats currently available.

Ooky Jack O Lantern

Jellycat Ooky Jack O Lantern Halloween 2023There are three Jellycats that have been released in the Ooky range. This little guy is Ooky Jack O Lantern. He is a one of two pumpkins out for Halloween.

Ooky Jack O Lantern has an embroidered face and a chunky corduroy stalk. He is only a little guy, measuring around 8cm tall.

Ooky Ghost

Jellycat Ooky Ghost Halloween 2023How adorable is little Ooky Ghost?!

He would make the perfect spooky companion during Halloween to keep the monsters away!

He isn’t that big either, only measuring around 14cm tall, so he could potentially make a good travel buddy.

Ooky Bat

Jellycat Ooky Bat Halloween 2023

With outstretched wings, Ooky Bat just looks like he wants a cuddle! His huge ears are so cute too!

I really want this little guy and he is on my wish list for this year’s Halloween Jellycats. I think if I eventually do get him, I’ll name him Bartok after this little guy…

Bartok from Anastasia

(Photo: Don Bluth’s Anastasia)

I know he’s a different colour to Bartok from the Anastasia movie, but for some reason Ooky Bat reminds me of him!

Spindleshanks Spider

Apart from the fact that Spindleshanks Spider is a cute little arachnid, his name is one of the best things about this little guy!

I love his fuzzy little legs and cute little face! How could you not love him?

Amuseable Pumpkin

Jellycat Amuseable Pumpkin Halloween 2023

Amuseable Pumpkin is the latest addition to the Amuseables range.

With his orange colour and cheerful face, he would be perfect for a Halloween/Autumnal display.

Cauldron Cuties

Jellycat Cauldron Cuties Halloween 2023

This is my personal favourite addition to the Halloween 2023 range.

The Cauldron Cuties are not only too cute for words, they are great value! Three Jellycats in one…in their own container to keep them in! What’s not to love?

The individual Cauldron Cuties would make great pocket pals too as they only measure around 7cm tall.

Greta Gremlin

Jellycat Greta Gremlin Halloween 2023

With her fuzzy purple fur and tiny pointed fangs, Greta Gremlin makes the perfect buddy or watching Halloween movies over the Spooky Season!

I think her favourite movie to watch would be Gremlins 2: The New Batch, especially as the female gremlin from the movie is called Greta.

She is similar to Grizzo Gremlin and Pandora Pixie and I could imagine the three being friends.

Skeleton Bob

Jellycat Skeleton Bob Halloween 2023Skeleton Bob is quite possibly one of the most sought after Halloween Jellycats this year!

When you look at his charming little face you can see why! He reminds me of one of the characters from the Disney/Pixar movie, Coco.

The only bug bear I have with him is that he doesn’t have any beans inside him, which makes him less posable than other Jellycats.

What do you think of the Halloween 2023 range? Who is your favourite? Leave a comment below!

Sandy Snail – A Review of the Adorable Yellow Gastropod

August 2nd, 2023 by Rachel

Hi everyone!

I was really excited to get this little cutie! Well, technically she is at my parent’s house until I return to the UK from Bulgaria but my Dad sent some pictures so I could see her before I come home (thank you Dad!).

Here she is….Sandy Snail!

Jellycat Sandy Snail

She kind of reminds me of the Wriggidig range and looks like she’d make the perfect companion to Wriggidig Ant or Wriggidig Caterpillar (two that are on my wish list!)

I have been informed that she is incredibly soft and very cute (apparently my Mum has taken a shine to her – sorry Mum, she’s mine!).

Jellycat Sandy Snail Side View

Her swirly beige shell is just too cute and goes really well with her mustard yellow body. Her little yellow antennae make an adorable little touch.

Her hang tag can be seen below and reads:

I am
Sandy Snail

Please look after me.

Sandy Snail hang tag

My thoughts…

Although I don’t have Sandy Snail in my hands JUST yet until I get home, I can’t wait to see this adorable little gastropod.

She isn’t that big, making her a good size to carry in your bag. Not quite pocket-sized, but small enough to be a travel companion.

Do you have Sandy Snail? What are your thoughts on her? Leave a comment below!

Top 10 Pocket-Sized Jellycats Available in 2023

July 21st, 2023 by Rachel

Hi everyone!

As it is Friday, I thought I would write a fun little post, especially as this is something I have been looking for myself recently.

I’m not sure if you follow my Facebook, Instagram and TikTok pages, but I’ve been on the search for a pocket-sized Jellycat to carry with me on my adventures. I finally, after much deliberation, chose the Amuseable Olives and Wee Bear, as shown below.

Amuseable Olives and Wee Bear - Pocket-sized JellycatsNow they have started their journey on an almost 2,000 mile trip from the UK to where I am currently staying in Bulgaria and I’m hoping they arrive here safely!

I did have other options that sadly I didn’t choose this time round. Please tell me I’m not the only one who feels a little sad about leaving Jellies behind…Don’t worry guys, you’re still in my wish list! I will list these down below along with others I think that would make the perfect pocket pal.

1. Nippit Mole

Jelleycat Nippit Mole

Nippit Mole is the perfect pocket pal. He only measures around 13cm tall and has tiny arms that you just want to cuddle! And just look at the tiny tail….and those eyes!

I’m really sad I didn’t get to choose him this time, but maybe one day…

2. Fluffy Crab

Jellycat Fluffy CrabI’m still really sad about leaving this little guy behind! Fluffy Crab actually was one of my favourites of the Jellycats I had on my wish list!

He only measures about 9cm long, making him a great size to fit in your pocket. His little cheery face really makes your day! I may have to sneakily get him sometime…shhh!

3. Yummy Bear

Jellycat Yummy BearYummy Bear was another Jellycat I really regret not getting. I think he has the cutest face and I think he is freaking adorable!

He is around 15cm tall, so he’s not the MOST pocket-sized Jellycat, which is what made my decision, but he would still small enough to fit in a bag.

He has embroidered eyes instead of the button eyes of most of the Yummy range, but I actually think this looks pretty cute.

4. Birdling Seagull

Pretty much any of the Birdling range would be considered “pocket-sized”. I just picked out Birdling Seagull as I like his design. Birdling Pigeon would equally be on this list, but I didn’t want to list more than one Birdling.

The Birdlings only measure around 10 x 7cm, making an ideal travel-sized companion.

5. Amuseabean Highland Cow

Jellycat Amuseabean Highland CowThere are a range of Amuseabean animals. As of today, there are five Amuseabeans: Kitty, Bunny, Highland Cow, Ram and Unicorn. I chose the Highland Cow as he is probably the most tactile with different textures.

He has a soft brown body, fluffy brown fur on top of his head, tiny smooth horns and corduroy legs, giving him a variety of textures. He is also very cute.

6. Forest Fauna Frog

Jellycat Forest Fauna Frog

The full size of the Forest Fauna Frog would probably not be considered pocket-size. However, if you were to just take the frog alone, he would make the perfect little companion. Plus his smile is enough to brighten anyone’s day.

I love the fact he comes with his own toadstool house, so you have somewhere to store him when you’re home.

7. Amuseable Bean

Jellycat Amuseable BeanWhy have I put Amuseable Bean in this list? What other reason is there? A soft, plush, bean-filled baked bean to carry around in your pocket. There’s not much else to say!

He is a little cutie though.

8. Napping Nipper Westie

Jellycat Napping Nipper WestieTo be fair, any of the Napping Nippers are adorable and perfect for this list. I chose the Napping Nipper Westie because I love his red tartan bed.

That’s the main reason why I love the Napping Nippers, because they come with their own little bed to sit in. It feels like you’re getting more value.

9. Kitten Caboodle Grey

Jellycat Kitten Caboodle Grey

There are various Kitten Caboodles, but I chose Kitten Caboodle Grey because I love her blue eyes and silvery grey colour.

The Kitten Caboodles measure around 10 x 10 cm, so they are purrrrfectly pocket-sized! (Sorry, I couldn’t help it).

I also love the Kitten Caboodle Black and would add him to this list if I could, but I need to save the last slot for one more Jellycat.

And finally…

Amuseable Slice of Pizza

Jellycat Amuseable Slice of PizzaIf you go off measurements alone (19 x 5 cm), you probably wouldn’t consider Amuseable Pizza particularly pocket-sized. However, if folded, he could most certainly fit in your pocket, if not a handbag. Plus he is incredibly tactile with lots of textures

The only downside is he makes me really hungry…

My final thoughts…

There are several Jellycats I wanted to add to the list, for example, Small Amuseable Avocado is one of my favourite Jellycats (as seen below).

Jellycat Small Amuseable AvocadoI love this little guy and would have added him in a heartbeat. The only thing stopping me was his height. He would definitely fit in a handbag, however, he measures around 20cm tall, so I couldn’t justify calling him “pocket-sized’

This list was in no particular order, I don’t have favourites as I feel too guilty! It is also only based on my personal opinion.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this list! If you have a favourite pocket-sized Jellycat, leave a comment below!

Is my Jellycat toy genuine or fake?

July 10th, 2023 by Rachel

Hi everyone!

If you’ve made it here, it’s probably because you’re wondering if they Jellycat toy you’ve purchased, or are looking to purchase, is genuine or fake.

There are many ways to tell that which I will go on to explain below.

Name

The first, and probably most obvious way to tell this is with the brand name on the tag.

Below is a picture of my small Bashful Peony Bunny.

Jellycat Small Bashful Peony BunnyAs you can see, the hang tag has the Jellycat “cat” logo with “jELLYCAT London” written underneath with that exact spelling.

However, there are some slight variations to the tag, for example, the Amuseables range has the word “AMUSEABLES” written in an arch above the cat logo, and its signature jelly hat has changed to a pineapple.

There is also a company that produces fake Jellycats that is well known in the Jellycat community called Ko Bonnie. They practically rip off the Jellycat font, but the word “jELLYCAT” is replaced with “Ko Bonnie”. On the other side of the tag, every single toy, no matter what design, says “I am Small Truffles Sheep

Colour

If the colour of the Jellycat toy looks “off” from what you expect, then it could potentially be a fake.

However, occasionally there has been a colour change when there has been a redesign. One example of this is the Bashful Plum Bunny. The original Plum Bunny was a USA exclusive, but was much lighter in colour than the later 2020 version of the Plum Bunny.

Overall appearance

This isn’t totally straightforward as Jellycat toys, especially Bashful Bunnies, have had their design changed over time.

Jellycat Bashful Bunny Beige and Petal comparisonAs you can see in the picture above, the small Beige Bashful Bunny on the left is smaller than the later small Petal Bashful Bunny on the right. The petal bunny’s arms, body and feet are chunkier and there is no longer any stitching for the toes. Both are 100% genuine.

A fake Jellycat will usually have a face that is totally out of proportion. In the case of Bashful Bunnies, they may have a larger than average or eyes that don’t look quite right. Their ears may look a bit weird or they may have limbs that are longer or shorter than you’d expect.

A fake Jellycat may look totally different from the stock image. However, there are some examples where genuine Jellycat toys look slightly different from the official stock photo. Below, you can see the stock image of a Munchkin Cat against my genuine Munchkin Cat.

Jellycat Munchkin CatAs you can see, although both are cute, the face on the Munchkin cat and the body shape are very different in reality.

Similar brands

I suppose these aren’t technically fakes, rather brands that are similar in appearance to Jellycat toys.

There are many brands that have based their toys on existing Jellycats. Below, are a couple of examples.

Apricot Lamb Toys

They are a relatively new US-based brand that almost entirely seem to consist of Jellycat look-a-like toys. For example, there is an Apricot Lamb Toys fox that looks very similar to a Fuddlewuddle Fox. Although, personally the fur doesn’t have the nice “ruffled” look that a Fuddlewuddle has.

Left to right: Fuddlewuddle Fox and Apricot Lamb Toys Fox

Manhattan Toy Company

At first glance, you might think that they might be a look-a-like company, however, the Manhattan Toy Company and Jellycat actually share more in common than you might think. The Manhattan Toy Company are indeed a legitimate company and Jellycat are actually an offshoot from them, hence the similarities.

Below, you could be forgiven for thinking this Manhattan Toys Monkey is a copy of a Bashful Monkey.

Left to right: Bashful monkey and Manhattan Toys MonkeyI still prefer the Bashful Monkey though, because of his cheerful, smiley face.

What do you think?

I hope this article is of use to you and that it helps to figure out if you have a genuine Jellycat or a dupe. Leave a comment below with your thoughts!

Happy Valentine’s Day! – The Cutest Valentine’s Day Jellycats!

February 14th, 2023 by Rachel

Hi everyone!

Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you’re having a fantastic day however you’re spending it!

Today, I will be highlighting some of the best (in my opinion) Jellycat plushies that are available this year!

There have been a few releases this year. Some are obviously Valentine’s themed and some are more subtle lovey-dovey Jellies. Below, I will show you some of my favourite Valentine’s Day Jellycats.

Blossom Heart Blush Bunny and Blossom Heart Tulip Bunny

Jellycat Blossom Heart Blush Bunny and Blossom Heart Tulip Bunny

These cute Blossom Blush Heart and Blossom Tulip Heart bunnies hold a floral heart that matches the pattern on their inner ears.

I think I slightly prefer the aqua and pink floral notes on the Blush Bunny but they are both beautiful!

The bunnies have only been released in the small 15cm size.

Alice Axolotl

Jellycat Alice Axolotl

Whilst she is technically not a Valentine’s Day Jellycat, Alice Axolotl’s hot pink colour is undeniably gorgeous for this time of year!

She was originally available in a medium 27cm size, but has recently been released in a smaller 17cm size.

Which size do you prefer?

Amuseable Tulip

Jellycat Amuseable TulipAmuseable Tulip was actually released back in 2020. However, it is still available today and would make a lovely Valentine’s Day gift for a Jellycat collector!

I’m a huge fan of the Amuseable range. They’re just so quirky and random that I love them! I especially think the plants are great if you don’t have the time or energy for the upkeep of real plants or flowers.

Amuseable Hot Pink Heart

Jellycat Amuseable Hot Pink Heart

What could be better than your very own heart to cuddle?!

I had a hard time deciding whether to put the Hot Pink Heart here or the similar Amuseable Red Heart as they are both cute. In the end, I ever-so-slightly preferred the colour of the Hot Pink Heart.

The Amuseable Hot Pink Heart was released in a small and large size.

Love-Me Lobster

Jellycat Love-Me Lobster

Love-Me Lobster is so adorable that I had to include him here!

Both his tail and claws are shaped just like love hearts and his cute little black eyes are too hard to resist! He looks like he’s just asking for a cuddle!

And finally…

A Pair of Lovely Lovebirds

Jellycat A Pair of Lovely LovebirdsWhat could be better than two Jellycats in one!

A Pair of Lovely Lovebirds is exactly that! This set of two lovebirds are too cute for words. One is yellow with a red head and the other is green with an orange head. There is a lot of attention to detail on this pair as well with the two-tone beak, white ring around the eyes and colourful wing-tips!

Aren’t they adorable!

Holidays are Coming!…My Top 5 Favourite Christmas Jellycats of 2022!

November 30th, 2022 by Rachel

Hi everyone!

Christmas is just around the corner now! I can’t believe how fast the past year has gone!

To celebrate, I’ve compiled a list of my favourite Winter Jellycats that have been released for Christmas this year.

This list is in no particular order and is based on my own personal favourites.

1. Amuseable Blue Spruce Christmas Tree

Amuseable Blue Spruce Christmas Tree

The original Amuseable Christmas Tree has “branched” out into two brand new varieties of Christmas Tree – Amuseable Fraser Fir Christmas Tree and Amuseable Blue Spruce Christmas Tree.

I was torn between which one I would include in this list, but I decided to go with the Blue Spruce as a slightly prefer his blue-green colouring.

Both versions are absolutely gorgeous, so it was a tough call.

2. Huddles Penguin

Huddles Penguin

Huddles Penguin cuddles an adorable, tiny baby penguin in her flippers. She is so cute she will make your heart melt!

I love the how the charcoal black fur contrasts with the pale yellow of her beak and feet.

3. Celebration Crustacean Lobster

Celeration Crustacean Lobster

Again, this was a really difficult decision.

There are three Celebration Crustaceans and they’re all so cute and quirky that it took me a while to decide which one to add to the list!

The three Jellycats in the range are Celebration Crustacean Lobster, Celebration Crustacean Crab and Celebration Crustacean Shrimp.

In the end, I decided to go for the lobster as I preferred his overall look with the red party hat and little orange claws.

This was a very tough decision to make as part of me wanted to go for the shrimp as it was such a bizarre creature to pick for Christmas.

4. Hibernating Penguin

Hibernating Penguin

Hibernating Penguin is so adorable that I had to add her to the list.

She is a tiny, baby penguin snuggled up in a fluffy, cloud-like nest that is just so soft. I couldn’t think of anything better than to be curled up in a fluffy nest like that.

She can also be separated from her nest, as shown below.

Hibernating PenguinAnd finally…

5. Amuseable Slice of Christmas Cake

Amuseable Slice of Christmas Cake

I had to add the Amuseable Slice of Christmas Cake to the list as it is such a funny little Jellycat.

Not only is it very cute, I like how it is called a “slice” of cake and not just an “Amuseable Christmas Cake” which might take away a bit of the charm.

It also looks yummy enough to eat and could be placed on a decorative plate as a quirky Christmas decoration!

Your thoughts…

I hope you enjoyed reading this list. As I said above, this is a list of my own personal favourites from this year’s Winter releases. Please leave a comment below on any Jellycats that you would have included, as I would love to read them!

Betty Corgi – The Queen’s Jubilee Jellycat!

May 17th, 2022 by Rachel

Hi everyone!

Recently we’ve been treated to a ton of new Jellycats including the new Rose Dragon, lovably chonky Ricky Rain Frog and the adorable Fun-Guy Robbie.

There are also three new birds to join the Birdling range: Birdling Blue Jay, Birdling Mallard and Birdling Pigeon.

But the one that surprised everyone was the adorable new Betty Corgi!

Betty quietly became available, which came as a shock to everyone!

She is a brand new corgi Jellycat released in time for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. She isn’t named after any of the Queen’s corgis but I’m pretty certain she is named after the Queen herself (Betty being short for Elizabeth).

She has short legs with white feet, a long body and a tiny, caramel-coloured tail.

Betty is quite possibly one of the cutest Jellycat dogs I’ve seen!

Will you be celebrating the Jubilee? Do you have Betty in your collection? Leave a comment below!

What is my Jellycat worth?

November 30th, 2021 by Rachel

UPDATED FOR WINTER 2021

If you’ve made it here, there’s a good chance that you’re wanting to find out the value of a Jellycat plush you have. To try and help out, I’ve written this handy guide.

It can be quite difficult to find out the price of an untagged Jellycat, especially if it’s a vintage one that isn’t very well known. This guide is best for those who either have a tagged Jellycat or if you definitely know the name of it.

If you know the name of the Jellycat you want to price, then proceed to read the next steps in this guide.

The links below are affiliate links. If you purchase something by clicking through one of the links below, we may receive a small commission. This doesn’t cost you anything additional and helps to fund this site.

I’ve found that the best place to price a Jellycat is on eBay. I will base this guide on the UK market, but if you are based in the USA, the same procedures can be used using eBay.com.

To start, head over to eBay. You will find the following page, pictured below.

eBayWhen the page has loaded, go to the search bar, entitled “Search for anything”, and type the name of the  Jellycat you want to price. For example, I will search for a “Sherbet Bashful Bunny” (highlighted in red).

You should find a page that looks a little bit like the one pictured below.

This won’t show you the value as such, only the price that people have listed for. A seller can list whatever price they want for anything, but the value is only as much as a buyer is willing to pay for that item. To get the true value, you will want to filter the results so you only see sold items.

Scroll down the page until you see a section on the left hand side titled Show Only. Tick the checkbox called Sold items. This will also automatically select Completed items. This is no problem as we want to see the completed sales (sales that were actually paid for).

When the page has loaded with your filtered results, you will want to filter the results further by sorting from the lowest price. Click on the drop-down box that currently says Ended recently and change it to Lowest price + P&P.

Below are some of the results we get back (as of 30th November 2021).

As you can see, they start at just over £47.

And a few more…

A lot depends on the size and condition of the Jellycat. For example, a medium Sherbet Bashful Bunny ranges from about £50 up to about £90. The £50 medium Sherbet bunny was in poor condition with no tags and the £90 bunny was BNWT (Brand New With Tags).

The best thing to do is to search for your Jellycat and using the guide above, filter the results, then find a Jellycat that most accurately fits with the condition of the one you are trying to price.

I hope you find this guide helpful in trying to find the value of your Jellycat/Bashful Bunnies.

Visit eBay using the links below to start pricing your Jellycat

My favourite Jellycats of 2021!

November 21st, 2021 by Rachel

Hi everyone!

Sorry its been a while since my last post. Things have been pretty around here lately.

I’ve been so excited by the latest releases, especially since there have been so many cats included this time! Anyone that knows me, will know that I am a huge fan of cats and love to collect Jellycat kitties!

There are also a few more that I am super excited about and would love to get hold of. I’ll list a few of my favourites below.

1. Fungi Forager Squirrel

Meet Fungi Forager Squirrel.

This little guy is soooo adorable! A squirrel carrying his own personal mushroom umbrella? Who on earth would have thought of that?!

That brings me to my next favourite…

2. Fungi Forager Bunny

Jellycat also released a Fungi Forager Bunny to go with his squirrel buddy.

For some reason, these two little forest critters remind me of a Jim Henson creation, like they could have been in Labyrinth.

3. Amore Cat Black

Next up is Amore Cat Black.

This chonky black cat it too freaking cute for words! I love his sleepy expression!

There was also an Amore Cat Cream released at the same time.

4. Bewitching Cat

Bewitching Cat kind of looks like Casper Cat’s cousin with less fur and black eyes instead of green. He looks very sweet and very huggable.

And finally…

5. Munchkin Cat

From what I’ve heard, Munchkin Cat doesn’t look as appealing the stock image above, but I want her anyway.

She was released alongside her dog counterpart, Munchkin Pup.

As you can see, many of my favourites are cats, but I’d love to hear your favourite releases from this year. Please feel free to leave a comment below and let us know!
