Jellycat Smudge Fox Review

Saturday, April 6th, 2024

Hi everyone!

I’m so happy because my Smudge Fox arrived!

I ordered him on the event day on Tuesday 2nd April and I couldn’t believe that he arrived the very next day!

It’s taken me a couple of days to be able to post a review, but here he is!

Jellycat Smudge Fox
The pictures here don’t do him justice as in real life he is more of a rusty, red-orange colour. He appears a lot brighter in reality, but he is sooo soft and cute!

He sits well upright and can be positioned laying down too in the classic Smudge way.

Jellycat Smudge Fox
Another super adorable thing about him is that his tail is slightly curved. This means that when you sit him upright, you can curl it around his feet!

Jellycat Smudge Fox
He is the perfect cuddling size and so lovely and floppy. I love all the multiple ways you can position him, including the classic “resting your head on your paws” position.

His hang tag, like all new Jellycat tags, is attached with a cotton thread to be more environmentally friendly.

His style number code is SMG2F and his tag reads:

I am
Medium
Smudge Fox

Please look after me.

Jellycat Smudge Fox
The only minor (totally fixable) criticism I have about him is that he needs a little trim around his eyes and nose as they tend to get hidden behind his fur. This is easy to do with a pair of nail scissors, so I will be giving him a little trim in due course.

Jellycat Smudge Fox
My thoughts…

I wasn’t going to buy Smudge Fox at first, but I’m so glad I did. He is not only better than I thought he would be, he is so floppy and adorable that I couldn’t possibly NOT fall in love with him!

I will be however, giving his eyes a trim so he can “see” a little better.

Do you have Smudge Fox in your collection? What do you think of him? Leave a comment below!

Take a sneak peak at some of the best 2024 Jellycats!

Tuesday, November 21st, 2023

Hi everyone!

Next year will be a very special occasion…Jellycat’s 25th Anniversary!

There will be some exciting re-releases to commemorate this Anniversary, as well as plenty of fabulous brand new Jellycats!

One of those re-releases has already made its way to the Jellycat website (although it has now sold out, apparently with more on the way…). That Jellycat is…

Smudge Rabbit

Jellycat Smudge Bunny Medium 2023

Smudge Rabbit was very popular and became very sought after. She was re-released in October 2023, but because of her popularity, has sold out again. Hopefully there will be some more stock at the beginning of next year.

So far, Jellycat have re-released the medium and big Smudge Rabbit. I don’t think there are any plans for another tiny size.

Another re-release that is highly anticipated is…

Fergus Frog

Jellycat Fergus Frog 2024 Re-release

Fergus is another Jellycat that was considered rare and highly sought after. After this re-release, I imagine the value will slightly decrease for the original. Although, its possible that the original will still be more sought after than the re-release.

However, I missed out on Fergus the first time around, so I’m hoping to get hold of him when he is next released! I adore his little grumpy face!

There are other re-releases coming too, such as Large Truffles Sheep and Fabian Frog Prince.

Brand new Jellycats for 2024

There are also going to be some brand new releases for 2024. Some of these that stand out that I think will be highly popular can be seen below.

Honeyhome Bee

Jellycat Honeyhome Bee 2024

I’m really looking forward to the Honeyhome Bee! Not only do you get a tiny, pocket-sized bee, they come with their very own home to live in!

Following on from the bee-theme is…

Brynlee Bee

Jellycat Brynlee Bee 2024

Brynlee Bee looks similar to the Wriggidig range and would make the perfect companion for my Sandy Snail!

I love her adorable wings and her little stinger on her bottom!

Next up…

Golden Dragon

Jellycat Golden Dragon Medium 2024

There will also be another colour addition to the dragons. Golden Dragon will be available next year to celebrate Chinese New Year as 2024 will be the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese Zodiac.

Golden Dragon will be available in a little, medium and huge size.

Darvin Dragon

Darvin Dragon 2024

Darvin Dragon is another addition for Chinese New Year.

He is a gorgeous bright red colour with golden wings and he is so cute!

I so need this little guy in my collection, as well as one more Chinese New Year dragon that will be released for 2024…

Festival Dragon

Jellycat Festival Dragon 2024

I don’t just want this little guy, I NEED him!

Festival Dragon is based on a Chinese Dragon design, and is possibly my favourite dragon Jellycat have made so far!

I love that he looks like he is smiling and he is so detailed. I’m really hoping I can get hold of him!

Bashful Luxe Bunny Azure

Jellycat Bashful Luxe Bunny Azure

Bashful Luxe Bunny Azure is a 25th Anniversary addition to the Bashful Luxe Bunny range.

I’m loving the blue and green colour mix on this bunny and I’m hoping it looks as good in real life.

The Azure bunny will be available in a small and big size.

And finally, the most anticipated release next year…

Jellycat

Jellycat Original Mascot Plush 2024

This is THE Jellycat!

Jellycat is the company’s jelly-wearing, signature black and white cat! I simply can’t WAIT for this guy to be released!

I’ve always loved this cat as he reminds me a little of Felix the Cat.

I am almost certain that he will be very popular with collectors and I can imagine this guy may be quite pricey. I’m just hoping I can get hold of him! If I could only get one Jellycat next year, this would be the one!

Jellycat will be available in a small, big and really big size.

My thoughts

I am so looking forward to quite a few of the Jellycats coming in 2024!

I am especially going to be looking out for the Jellycat (although my budget will probably only allow for the small size!), Darvin Dragon and Festival Dragon. If I can, I also want Honeyhome Bee as he just looks adorable.

Clyde Capybara is now available!

Saturday, October 14th, 2023

Hi everyone!

Some exciting news for you all…..Clyde Capybara is available to buy on the Jellycat website!

I wasn’t sure about him at first. I kind of liked him, then I decided I wasn’t going to buy him. Roll on 24 hours and I got a serious case of F.O.M.O. and couldn’t stand the thought of missing out on him, so I ordered him.

I’m glad I did as who could resist this chonky little guy?

Jellycat Clyde CapybaraAccording to the Jellycat website, he measures 21cm tall and 24cm long, but from others that have already received theirs, they have said he seems bigger than the official measurements.

Clyde is quite possibly my spirit animal. A little chunky and always looks like he could do with an early night.

Jellycat Clyde Capybara

Hopefully, I’ll have this little fellow in my hands next week and I will post up real life pictures of him. From images I’ve seen from other Jellycat collectors, he looks so adorable and cuddly.

I love how realistic he looks, but others have said that they aren’t so keen on this and that he doesn’t look like a Jellycat. I get where they are coming from, but I think that’s the beauty of Jellycats, that there is something to please everyone!

Clyde Capybara JellycatPlus, can we just take a moment to appreciate his chonkiness? I can’t wait until he arrives and show him to you all!!

What are your thoughts on Clyde? Do you have him in your collection? Leave a comment below!

Holidays are Coming!…My Top 5 Favourite Christmas Jellycats of 2022!

Wednesday, November 30th, 2022

Hi everyone!

Christmas is just around the corner now! I can’t believe how fast the past year has gone!

To celebrate, I’ve compiled a list of my favourite Winter Jellycats that have been released for Christmas this year.

This list is in no particular order and is based on my own personal favourites.

1. Amuseable Blue Spruce Christmas Tree

Amuseable Blue Spruce Christmas Tree

The original Amuseable Christmas Tree has “branched” out into two brand new varieties of Christmas Tree – Amuseable Fraser Fir Christmas Tree and Amuseable Blue Spruce Christmas Tree.

I was torn between which one I would include in this list, but I decided to go with the Blue Spruce as a slightly prefer his blue-green colouring.

Both versions are absolutely gorgeous, so it was a tough call.

2. Huddles Penguin

Huddles Penguin

Huddles Penguin cuddles an adorable, tiny baby penguin in her flippers. She is so cute she will make your heart melt!

I love the how the charcoal black fur contrasts with the pale yellow of her beak and feet.

3. Celebration Crustacean Lobster

Celeration Crustacean Lobster

Again, this was a really difficult decision.

There are three Celebration Crustaceans and they’re all so cute and quirky that it took me a while to decide which one to add to the list!

The three Jellycats in the range are Celebration Crustacean Lobster, Celebration Crustacean Crab and Celebration Crustacean Shrimp.

In the end, I decided to go for the lobster as I preferred his overall look with the red party hat and little orange claws.

This was a very tough decision to make as part of me wanted to go for the shrimp as it was such a bizarre creature to pick for Christmas.

4. Hibernating Penguin

Hibernating Penguin

Hibernating Penguin is so adorable that I had to add her to the list.

She is a tiny, baby penguin snuggled up in a fluffy, cloud-like nest that is just so soft. I couldn’t think of anything better than to be curled up in a fluffy nest like that.

She can also be separated from her nest, as shown below.

Hibernating PenguinAnd finally…

5. Amuseable Slice of Christmas Cake

Amuseable Slice of Christmas Cake

I had to add the Amuseable Slice of Christmas Cake to the list as it is such a funny little Jellycat.

Not only is it very cute, I like how it is called a “slice” of cake and not just an “Amuseable Christmas Cake” which might take away a bit of the charm.

It also looks yummy enough to eat and could be placed on a decorative plate as a quirky Christmas decoration!

Your thoughts…

I hope you enjoyed reading this list. As I said above, this is a list of my own personal favourites from this year’s Winter releases. Please leave a comment below on any Jellycats that you would have included, as I would love to read them!

Betty Corgi – The Queen’s Jubilee Jellycat!

Tuesday, May 17th, 2022

Hi everyone!

Recently we’ve been treated to a ton of new Jellycats including the new Rose Dragon, lovably chonky Ricky Rain Frog and the adorable Fun-Guy Robbie.

There are also three new birds to join the Birdling range: Birdling Blue Jay, Birdling Mallard and Birdling Pigeon.

But the one that surprised everyone was the adorable new Betty Corgi!

Betty quietly became available, which came as a shock to everyone!

She is a brand new corgi Jellycat released in time for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. She isn’t named after any of the Queen’s corgis but I’m pretty certain she is named after the Queen herself (Betty being short for Elizabeth).

She has short legs with white feet, a long body and a tiny, caramel-coloured tail.

Betty is quite possibly one of the cutest Jellycat dogs I’ve seen!

Will you be celebrating the Jubilee? Do you have Betty in your collection? Leave a comment below!

My favourite Jellycats of 2021!

Sunday, November 21st, 2021

Hi everyone!

Sorry its been a while since my last post. Things have been pretty around here lately.

I’ve been so excited by the latest releases, especially since there have been so many cats included this time! Anyone that knows me, will know that I am a huge fan of cats and love to collect Jellycat kitties!

There are also a few more that I am super excited about and would love to get hold of. I’ll list a few of my favourites below.

1. Fungi Forager Squirrel

Meet Fungi Forager Squirrel.

This little guy is soooo adorable! A squirrel carrying his own personal mushroom umbrella? Who on earth would have thought of that?!

That brings me to my next favourite…

2. Fungi Forager Bunny

Jellycat also released a Fungi Forager Bunny to go with his squirrel buddy.

For some reason, these two little forest critters remind me of a Jim Henson creation, like they could have been in Labyrinth.

3. Amore Cat Black

Next up is Amore Cat Black.

This chonky black cat it too freaking cute for words! I love his sleepy expression!

There was also an Amore Cat Cream released at the same time.

4. Bewitching Cat

Bewitching Cat kind of looks like Casper Cat’s cousin with less fur and black eyes instead of green. He looks very sweet and very huggable.

And finally…

5. Munchkin Cat

From what I’ve heard, Munchkin Cat doesn’t look as appealing the stock image above, but I want her anyway.

She was released alongside her dog counterpart, Munchkin Pup.

As you can see, many of my favourites are cats, but I’d love to hear your favourite releases from this year. Please feel free to leave a comment below and let us know!

I couldn’t resist…

Wednesday, April 21st, 2021

Hi guys!

If you’ve read my last post, I have been currently collecting dragon Jellycats. I bought a Bashful Dragon in a small and medium size. I also have a Little Sage Dragon and a Little Dexter Dragon.

Don’t they all look so cute pictured together?

I also mentioned before that I was sooo tempted by a Lallagie Dragon, but was trying to resist. Well…I caved and bought him. I’m so glad I did, as he’s so lovely and soft!

He is a lovely colour and these pictures don’t really do him justice. I’d say he’s a sort of minty-green/silver colour. I ADORE his little horns and tiny ears!

His legs are weighted with pellets, making them a little bit floppy. On his back, he has minty green wings and a long tail. His fur has a slightly “wavy” texture but very soft, and his belly is a lot smoother with horizontal stitching across it for detail.

He looks lovely alongside my Bashful Dragons and I’m so glad I bought him. He is taller than my medium Bashful Dragon, measuring about 39cm tall.

What dragon Jellies do you have in your collection? Who is your favourite dragon? Leave a comment below!

More Bunnies added to the database!

Tuesday, April 6th, 2021

Hi guys!

I hope you’ve all had a lovely Easter. It’s freeeeezing at the moment at Jelly Collector HQ! I’ve even seen a few flakes of snow falling!

Today, I’ve been busy (with some help from Crispin) adding more Bashful Bunnies to the Jelly Collector database.

We haven’t got many bunnies to add now. When I’ve finished, I’ll make a start on some of the other Jellycats. If you have a Jellycat that isn’t on the database yet, please get in touch and I’ll try and add it for you. I’m regularly adding new Jellies to the website, but I’m always happy to try and add in requests.

All the Special Edition bunnies are now on the website, as are the Winter/Christmas 2021 Jellycats for you to check out. Please let me know in the comments below if I’ve missed any.

My own collection of bunnies is growing, and I’ve got my eye on a few more that I want/need. I also have some Jellymail on the way, so I’ll post that up when it arrives.

For the moment, me and Crispin are taking a tea break. It’s a cold day and he needs to warm his claws up.

Hope you have a lovely day!

More Jellymail!

Friday, March 19th, 2021

I couldn’t resist…I ended up with more Jellycats!

I tried, I really did! But I ordered three more Jellies from JALS. I think I need help!

This time I didn’t order any bunnies. Instead, I managed to get hold of Sherri Sheep, Birdling Kingfisher and Tia Tiger (Ok, Tia is actually for my daughter which helps to justify my spending…a bit).

That being said, they are really cute and I’m so happy with my sheep and kingfisher. My daughter is also very happy with Tia (who she carries around everywhere by her super-long tail!) so that made it even more worthwhile.

I think my favourite, if I had to pick, is probably Sherri (pictured below).

This little sheep has the perfect look. Plus, she is sooo soft! I’ve been struggling to describe what she feels like, and there is only one thing I can think of – an owl chick. I know that is very specific and not everyone will have felt the downy feathers of a baby owl, but that is pretty much what she feels like.

Do you have any of these three Jellies? Or have you had some Jellymail that you want to share? Leave a comment below!
